After last night’s win over the Cowboys, there remains only one quarterback ahead of Brady.  That is to say, in terms of win streaks against America’s Team.  Brady is now 7-0 vs the Cowboys and tied with legendary Browns QB Frank Ryan.

The QB ahead of Brady is Randall Cunningham who played for the Eagles.  Jerry eventually caved and persuaded him to be a Cowboy by overpaying him, surely to stop the abuse.

Brady was on the market a couple of years ago too.  He signed with the Bucs on the cheap.  Jerry could have stopped the bleeding for nearly half Dak’s price.  Does he regret letting that opportunity pass him by?

    Nails on a Chalkboard

Last night was painful. The nation collectively felt the pain of having to listen to Chris Collinsworth’s raspy voice raking our ears on Sunday Night Football. All that aside, Cowboys fans had the additional displeasure of the actual game.

Bad luck and ill-preparedness showed up immediately.  Less than 4 minutes in, starting Guard Connor McGovern got his ankle rolled up on. He went limping off the field. He was leaning on the shoulders of what appeared to be miniature humans in comparison. The shallow depth of the Cowboys offensive line showed up in quarter one of game one, replacing him with 7th round pick Farniok.

The penalties, like a bad penny, always turn up in the McCarthy era. The Cowboys couldn’t get out of their own way. They were the most penalized team last season, and the saga continues.

    Dink and Dak

Dak looked more confused than in the home playoff loss last season against San Francisco. He refused to look downfield.  The blitzes were coming and the veteran QB simply wasn’t reading them.  Even after becoming injured, the fans were throwing garbage at him as he trotted off the field.  A sign of utter frustration with 3 more years of Dak.

Last year, a 44-year-old Brady led the NFL in yards and TDs. His QBR on Sunday night was 95.4.

Dak’s night ended with a QBR of 49.9.  It was pointed out during the game that his QBR was an astounding 1, so he managed to raise it.  But this isn’t a blame Dak story. He is simply the latest victim and most recent comparison of the NFL’s G.O.A.T.

    Cowboys QBs Couldn’t Compare

Romo couldn’t beat Brady either, in fact, Cowboys losses against Brady date all the way back to 2003 against QB Quincy Carter and Coach Parcells.

If there was something positive to take away from losing to the G.O.A.T. once again, it was the defense. Because of Dan Quinn’s ability to gameplan with his given personnel, they may stay close in games.  They allowed only one TD, despite having little rest because of poor offensive drives.  Micah Parsons led the way with 2 sacks.  He will be the driving force behind keeping the games close.  Perhaps this is something Cowboys fans can seek solace in moving forward, as they pad their seats in preparedness for a stint in last place.
