The Dallas Cowboys’ season went from bad to worse on Monday Night after their 34-10 home loss to the Houston Texans. The loss moved Dallas to 3-7 on the year and well out of playoff contention. Injuries have certainly derailed Dallas’ season, however, they could have an answer to their running game woes in the very near future.

Even as rumors swirl about potential head coaching candidates, the Dallas Cowboys still have a lot to do this offseason. It is likely that Dallas will have to strengthen multiple positions on the roster, including running back, regardless of whether head coach Mike McCarthy leaves:
Boise State star Ashton Jeanty is projected to be the top running back selected in the 2025 NFL draft. Jeanty is already making his case to be selected by the Cowboys.
“If I could script it, my family is all in Texas,” Jeanty explained on the November 12, 2024, edition of “Kickin’ It With Dee.” “I used to play in the Cowboys practice stadium.
“So, family being there, all the connections, all the relationships, I feel like that would just be the perfect city to play in. …Hey [Jerry Jones], you know what to do.”
Dallas certainly needs an answer for their running back room. They have been one of the worst rushing teams in the NFL this year. Jeanty could help out in a big way. Here are his collegiate stats so far:
