Through the first four games of the 2024 season, Colorado football two-way superstar Travis Hunter has 37 receptions and 14 tackles while pacing for a better statistical season than last year when he earned All-American honors. Meanwhile, Colorado Buffaloes gunslinger Shedeur Sanders, the son of head coach Deion Sanders, has tossed 11 touchdowns against two interceptions. Last Saturday, Colorado played their second epic back-and-fourth contest, beating the Baylor Bears in overtime at home following a dramatic Hail Mary completion on the final play of regulation.
Since the arrival of Hunter and the Sanders family, Colorado had yet to post a winning record, but they continue to make headlines for their performances on the field and action off of it. Love or hate them, Colorado is quickly becoming a must-watch college football team on the West Coast, and the numbers don’t lie.

Despite the USC Trojans holding a top ranking through the first month of the season, Colorado football dwarfs the competition in viewership. Per SuperWest TV, Colorado has two million more viewers than USC despite the latter playing ranked matchups against the LSU Tigers and Michigan Wolverines this season. Meanwhile, the Colorado Buffaloes have not found themselves inside the AP Top 25 this season, with their lone tilt against a ranked team on the road against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
What Colorado might lack in the win column since the hiring of head coach Deion Sanders in 2023 (7-9 record), they more than balance it out with elite talent. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders has thrown 38 touchdowns to just five picks, while his brother Shilo Sanders remains a staple of the team’s defense. However, the main attraction continues to be the potential Heisman Trophy Award winner Travis Hunter for his Shohei Ohtani-like ability to play on both sides of the ball.
