In arguably the most competitive late-night contest in Week 4, the Colorado football program hosted the Baylor Bears to open Big 12 play. With the two programs locked into a high-powered back-and-forth tilt, Baylor took a late fourth-quarter touchdown lead over the Colorado Buffaloes. However, with two seconds remaining in regulation and the ball on the Baylor 44-yard line, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders scrambled to his left before squaring his feet and launching a touchdown pass to wideout La’Johntay Wester in the endzone. The Buffaloes nailed the game-tying extra point, sending the late-night matchup into overtime.
Colorado football started with the ball, punching in a rushing touchdown from the one-yard line before Baylor attempted to answer. However, facing a first-and-goal at the Colorado two-yard line, the Bears fumbled the football into the endzone, resulting in a dramatic come-from-behind Buffs victory. The Colorado faithful stormed the field, with many college football fans taking exception to the action given the opponent’s pedigree.
College Fans Clown Colorado Football For Storming Field

According to The Sporting News:
Colorado fans stormed the field, but the game hasn’t ended yet.
With Colorado football nursing a touchdown overtime lead and Baylor two yards away from a game-tying score, two-way superstar Travis Hunter forced a walk-off fumble on Baylor running back Dominic Richardson. Colorado fans quickly stormed the field, albeit the officials were undergoing a review. Football fans put the CU faithful on blast for storming the field against an unranked opponent, although Colorado’s win came after a miracle Hail Mary pass to end regulation.
Colorado’s win pushes the team to 3-1, their same record through four games last season. They finished the year 4-8. They went 1-11 in 2022. More importantly, Saturday’s win keeps Colorado’s College Football Playoff hopes alive, with only three currently ranked opponents on their schedule. Although Saturday’s victory will come with all-time moments, college fans were quick to jump on Colorado devotees for “excessive celebration” against a team that has been 11-18 since 2022:
Storming the field after beating an unranked team at home…
