On Saturday, the Colorado football program had a nightmare offensive performance, rushing for a grotesque 16 yards while quarterback Shedeur Saunders was a sack victim six times. Despite head coach Deion Sanders revamping the offensive line this offseason, the younger Sanders continuously ran for his life, finishing the night with eight carries for -30 yards. His fellow backfield mates did not fare much better, with the running back trio of Dallan Hayden, Isaiah Augustave, and Charlie Offerdahl combining for 42 yards on 11 carries.
Postgame, Sanders questioned why the offense routinely stuck with the run despite minimal results while flabbergasted with his counterpart, Nebraska Cornhusker’s passer Dylan Raiola, keeping his jersey clean for the entire 60-minute tilt. Fans quickly jumped on Sanders for his lack of accountability, a necessity at the quarterback position.
Fans Disappointed with Colorado Football QB Shedeur Sanders for Postgame Remarks
According to Barstool Sports, Colorado football quarterback Shedeur Sanders had quite a bit to say about offense performance on Saturday:
How many times did Raiola get touched? Of course, whenever you can run the ball consistently, it opens up the pass. But you got to understand what your team is good at. So, why would we keep running the ball if, okay, we are out there and we get into a situation where it is a must-get, and we don’t get it.
Colorado’s O-Line is bad & Shedeur isn’t scared to say it.
Colorado football’s offense labored on Saturday, with Sanders going 23-of-38 for 244 yards and one touchdown against an interception. For reference, last week, Sanders went 26-of-34 for 445 yards, four touchdowns, and a pick. Although Sanders’ comments seem uncalled for, Colorado has again struggled in the rushing department this season. Last year, they averaged 2.3 yards per rush attempt, easily the worst mark in the country.
Nevertheless, many college football fans were displeased with Shedeur Sanders’ comments. Twitter was not a safe place for Sanders on Sunday, with the postgame going viral and fans putting him on blast:
Throw the guys who are supposed to protect you under the bus.

This man is too arrogant

He might be right. But this attitude will lead to a very short NFL career, for this already hyped & overrated QB

How many guys do post game press conferences, if they had a concussion?
So he didn't have a concussion?
He legit quit on the team.

Shedeur Sanders wouldn’t know what leadership was if it punched him in the face

What an AWFUL teammate. Leaving before the game is over and now this.
What pro team would want this attitude in the lockerroom?
