Colorado football has six wins this season, one more than the program combined for from 2022 to 2023. Last weekend, Colorado beat the Cincinnati Bearcats 34-23 behind the arm of quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The son of head coach Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes passer is on pace to break program records while playing at a Heisman Trophy Award level. Meanwhile, two-way All-American Travis Hunter is also having a career season, propelling the Buffaloes to victories in five of their last six games.
In the final month of the season, Colorado football will face Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas, and Oklahoma State to finish the season, all conference foes with three or more losses. If Colorado can win out and Kansas State, BYU, and Iowa State suffer setbacks, the former Pac-12 program could play for a Big 12 title and potentially earn a bid to the College Football Playoff. With the Buffaloes owning a bright outlook, their fans are preparing for a run from the Deion Sanders-led team.
Colorado Football Fans Hoping for Playoff Berth
According to many Colorado football fan pages, including @SKOBUFFSMEMEZ:
Looking at the Buffs’ upcoming schedule and possibly playoff appearance,….idk who can stop us…. #SkoBuffs #CUBuffs
After winning four games in Deion Sanders’ inaugural season last year, Colorado football is 6-2 as they head into their bye week. Through eight games, Colorado ranks in the top third of the FBS in passing yards, points, and third down conversion rate. The Colorado Buffaloes also have two players, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, who are in the thick of the Heisman Trophy Award race.
With a relatively easy schedule to round out the 2024 regular season, many Colorado football fans are expecting a potential 10-2 record ahead of the Big 12 title. Depending on the records posted from current Big 12 powers BYU, Kansas State, and Iowa State, the Buffaloes could compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Colorado Buffaloes faithful believe the program’s first-ever CFP berth is well within reach heading into the regular season’s final month:

I think Hunter wins the Heisman. He is historically generational. CU has a path to the playoffs. Just need to take care of business. If CU makes the playoffs the media buzz will be huge.

The CU Buffs in the College Football Playoff?
After Saturday night's win over Cincinnati, you don't have to squint too hard to see a path to the Big 12 title game, and with it, a shot at the CFP.

0 for November is coming. Buffs will still laugh when they are in the playoffs and Nebraska is home once again for bowl season. Coach Prime is keeping ALL the receipts from September in Lincoln.

The Colorado Buffaloes are the scariest team to make the playoffs because they have the best player in the game. And of course Coach Prime!
