Hunter’s excessive display of talents has rated him highly among the expected top picks in the next NFL Draft, but donning the NFL jersey number 12 is not straightforward for Hunter. Brady’s primary team, the New England Patriots, has already retired the number in honor of the football legend, and thus, no other player, including Hunter, can wear this jersey on this team.
In a recent conversation that surfaced on X ( formerly called Twitter), Hunter shared his openness to exploring other numbers in the NFL.
He mentioned that despite No. 12 being a part of his college history, he Understands the significance of No. 12 in the NFL world, and there are some practical considerations that necessitate respect for the legacies of players like Brady.
On another note, Hunter has also expressed a desire to wear No. 40 in case he cannot have No. 12, which he intends to begin another legacy in the sport of professional football.
Although No. 40 may not be the most popular number, it will allow Hunter an opportunity to build his own historic brand.
“If I don’t get No. 12, bro, I’m going No. 40,” Hunter said. “What if I go to the Patriots, bro? I’m not finna wear Tom Brady’s number. … I’m telling you I’ma rock No. 40 though, like, nobody wants to give me No. 12 they want me to pay for it, bro. Say goodbye.”
