The Colorado Buffaloes took home a win in their season opener against an FCS powerhouse, the North Dakota State Bison.
The win, which was watched by fans across the country because it was one of the few games that took place on Thursday, did not come without a wealth of criticism from the college football world.
Fans are calling Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders’ son Shilo Sanders dirty
Many fans around the college football world took to social media to attack defensive back Shilo Sanders for what they deemed “dirty” plays against the Bison.
Sanders was accused of hitting players out of bounds after the play was over as well as taking unnecessary shots at Bison players after incomplete passes.
Some fans are calling for his head, saying he is one of the dirtiest players in the nation while others are saying his play is being overanalized due to the nature of the Buffaloes as a team.

He should’ve had 2 flags on the first defensive drive. Got away with 2 late tackles

Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders was looking forward to the 2024 season
Despite the rampant criticism that flooded social media as the Colorado game transpired, Sanders and the Buffaloes are entering week two 1-0.
Sanders explained that this season was the last season he would be able to serve as a coach for his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, because both of them will be leaving for the next level after the 2024 season. Sanders said in an article from Marca that he was looking forward to his last season as their head coach.
This season is like, ‘I can’t wait for it to start but I don’t want it to be over,’ because this is it. This is it. You know, this is the last time Shedeur and I gonna make that walk at that last game. And that’s going to be tough. Although I’m 100% sure that I’m not going to be their coach next year, I’m still gonna have influence on their lives because I’m their father.
Sanders and the Buffaloes are one step closer to the magical turnaround that the media has predicted since they knocked off the defending runner-ups in the first game of the 2023 NFL season.
They will have to head into Lincoln, Neb. to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers if they want to keep the training rolling through week two. The Buffaloes and the Cornhuskers will face off in a night game, which will make the game an uphill battle for the Buffaloes.
Nebraska and Colorado used to play each other every year in the Big 12 and their pre-conference matchups in the last few years have been a continuation of that rivalry. If Nebraska takes care of business against the UTEP Miners in week one, they will be heading into the matchup against Colorado with a point to prove.
