Deion Sanders has added another Hall of Famer to their coaching staff in Marshall Faulk. Last season, the Colorado Buffaloes added Warren Sapp as their defensive line coach, and now Faulk makes it three NFL legends on the staff.
The Buffs are expected to announce Faulk as the running backs coach. This is a much-needed addition because the rushing attack under Coach Prime has been abysmal. In his first two seasons in Boulder, the Buffs have had the nation’s worst rushing offense in both years.

Faulk’s Accolades
Marshall Faulk had an illustrious career at San Diego State. In three seasons he recorded 5,562 total yards and 62 touchdowns, and he finished top ten in Heisman every year. Faulk had an even more impressive 12-year NFL career. He had 19,154 total yards and 136 touchdowns while also winning an NFL MVP award and a Super Bowl. It’s safe to say he knows what it takes to get the Colorado Buffaloes running backs right.
Colorado does have some talent in the running back room, but it’s up to Faulk to create running back production. Isaiah Agustave, Micah Welch, and Dallan Hayden are all expected to compete for the starting spot.
Good News for the Colorado Buffaloes
Bringing in Faulk is music to Buff fans ears. It makes it more likely that Deion Sanders won’t be heading to the Dallas Cowboys and he’ll stay put in Boulder for at least one more season.

According to Ian Rapoport the Cowboys don’t currently have an interview scheduled with Coach Prime.

The Buffaloes are also interviewing alum Matt Machesney for the offensive line job, and he was reportedly told that “Coach Prime is staying.” All signs point to Deion staying put in Colorado, and he’s making the appropriate moves following his son, Shedeur Sanders, departure. Whether Julian Lewis or Kaidon Salter starts for Colorado, they’ll need a legitimate running game to compete in the Big 12. And that all starts with the newly-hired legend Marshall Faulk.
