The College football season has just three weeks remaining in the regular season. However, despite being more than two months into the 2024 campaign, more needs to be decided regarding the College Football Playoff and the Heisman Trophy Award, the most significant individual honor in the sport. The CFP field and the Heisman Trophy Award have long been intertwined, with the league’s best player usually suiting up for one of the better teams in the country. This season, the top five favorites for the Heisman Trophy reside on College Football Playoff caliber teams. However, following an epic performance against Utah on Saturday, Travis Hunter of the Colorado Buffaloes distanced himself as the Heisman frontrunner.
Hunter, a two-way star for Colorado, has continued to shine as one of the best players in the country. Following his outing against Utah, in which he recorded a rushing touchdown on offense and an interception on defense, Hunter is trending towards becoming a heavy favorite for the Heisman. Meanwhile, many football fans believe the Heisman race is far from over, albeit the season is nearing its end.

On Saturday, Colorado football star Travis Hunter recorded five catches for 55 yards. He also added a five-yard touchdown via the run. Meanwhile, Hunter recorded a defensive interception on Utah quarterback Isaac Wilson. With the 49-24 win, Colorado moves to 8-2 on the season and controls their destiny regarding the College Football Playoff. Pacing a 1,000-yard receiving season and a standout campaign at cornerback, Hunter continues to lead as the 2024 Heisman Trophy frontrunner.
However, many college football fans have not forgotten his most significant threat to the award: Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. The rusher is pacing a historic FBS football season. He has collected an FBS-best 1,734 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns through nine games. He also leads the FBS with 224 rush attempts. Additionally, Oregon Ducks signal-caller Dillon Gabriel is having a standout campaign, throwing 22 touchdowns against five picks for an undefeated team. Nevertheless, football fans are unhappy with Hunter furthering himself in the Heisman race despite Jeanty and Boise State still waiting to play in Week 12:

55 yards, 1 TD , gave up 3/4 targets for 70+ yards and a TD , did get a lucky tipped pick but ends up moving up in the odds.
