The Penn State Nittany Lions are busy preparing for the SMU Mustangs in the college football playoffs this week. Penn State is 11-2 this season and one of the reasons why they are very good is because of quarterback Drew Allar.
Allar is a junior this year and it will be interesting to see if he will go into the 2025 NFL Draft or not. If he did decide to come back for next year, it would be huge for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State Nittany Lions Quarterback Drew Allar Will Return In 2025
On Monday morning, ESPN reported that Allar has informed the coaching staff that he will return for the 2025 college football season. Drew Allar this season with the Nittany Lions has completed 69.1% of his passes for 2,894 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
With him returning next year, he will have a chance to develop into a better quarterback. Allar could have the chance to be one of the top quarterbacks taken in the 2026 NFL Draft. He is 6’5″ and weighs 238 lbs. Drew Allar could also have a chance to win the Heisman Trophy next season.

Some college football fans thought that Allar made the right decision to stay in college next year and some thought that he made a mistake staying. Well, Drew Allar was not going to be drafted ahead of Shedeur Sanders of Colorado or Cam Ward of Miami in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, if Allar has a great year next season, he could be the top quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft.
