Colin Kaepernick became one of the biggest and controversial names in the NFL over the last decade or so. The 37-year-old saw his NFL career come to and end shortly after he started taking knees during the National Anthem.
10 years later, he is getting married to the love of his life.
Breaking: Colin Kaepernick Announces Marriage, Fans Erupt Over Who His New Wife Is (Report)

During the summer of 2022, Colin Kaepernick welcomed a child into the world with his girlfriend Nessa Diab, who has been his girlfriend for many years now. The couple had a big announcement this week about their relationship:
According to TMZ, Diab has confirmed that she and Kaepernick are officially married. Diab recently shared a video commenting on an ongoing feud with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation group and mentioned that she no longer wants to be referred to as his girlfriend, but as his wife instead.
“And for all the publications out there, do some research. Adjust it. I’m not Colin’s girlfriend or roommate or whatever. I’m his wife. I know research and getting information is a rare thing nowadays but let’s restore some integrity…” she said.
People were pretty surprised to learn that they were actually married. While we have labeled Diab as Kaepernick’s wife in that past, that was mostly based on what other outlets have stated, not based on verified proof that the two ever tied the knot.

But for the most part, people were largely dismissive of the entire thing, pointing out that nobody would really care about her if she weren’t in a relationship with a former NFL star. Kaepernick has been out of the league for nine years now.
We’re not entirely sure how we were supposed to know that the two were married since they never made any public announcement to that effect. Short of either directly asking their friends and loved ones or looking up public records across the country, it would have been hard to pry that information out.
And even if someone did, chances are that whoever did that would just get criticized for “prying into their personal life.”

That said, the beef with Roc Nation does tie in to Kaepernick’s NFL career too.
Diab has accused Roc Nation of taking millions from the NFL to help “suppress the escalating protests” in the mid-2010s.
“Roc Nation evidently accepted 5 million annually for 5 years to suppress the escalating protests. AND specifically help them ‘move beyond the controversy around teams’ unwillingness to sign Kaepernick,’” she said.
