Aaron Glenn, who was hired by the New York Jets as their new head coach, is being lauded by many, but Colin Cowherd thinks differently. On ‘The Herd’ on Tuesday, Glenn remarked that he is definitely lukewarm with New York’s decision. He also went on to say that while the players like Glenn, it does not mean much in terms of performance.
Aaron Glenn was introduced to the media in a press conference on Monday and went on to discuss many things that he plans to do with the team. Glenn also mentioned that he has still not made a strong decision regarding the future of Aaron Rodgers in the team, and will have to watch the game tapes with the general manager to see if continuing Rodgers as quarterback will be feasible for the franchise.
“Don’t love the staff I’m seeing put together so far. It may work. The players like him… So what does that mean? I don’t trust this organization upstairs. Aaron Glenn is fine. I think it’s actually a good roster. He’s kind of tap dancing, walking on eggshells around the Aaron Rodgers thing, I can’t give it better than a C.” Colin Cowherd said on ‘The Herd’.

Aaron Glenn has plenty of coaching experience, but this is the first time he has been hired as a head coach. Before this, Glenn was the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions from 2021 to 2024, and before that he was the defensive backs coach for the New Orleans Saints for four seasons.
Glenn also has history with the New York Jets as a cornerback, playing for them from 1994 to 2001, and then moved on to the Houston Texans. From there, Glenn was shifted to the Dallas Cowboys, and was with them for a season, before playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints for a season each, and then finally retiring and moving on to coaching.
Aaron Glenn Will Report To Woody Johnson Directly
Apart from hiring Aaron Glenn as head coach, the New York Jets are on their way to make more changes to their organizational structure. Jets owner, Woody Johnson, also ensured that from now on, the head coach will report to him directly.
This was not the case before with the previous coach, Robert Saleh. Saleh would report to the general manager, who would in line take the information to Johnson. However, in Aaron Glenn’s tenure as head coach, he will have free and direct access to Johnson, which will definitely make things more seamless for the team.
