The autopsy report gives more clues about Jaylon Ferguson’s death
It’s been a mystery as to how Baltimore Ravens player Jaylon Ferguson died a few weeks ago. The former Louisana Tech defensive end was found dead on June 21. Ferguson was only 26 years old. Per multiple reports, police said the death was questionable but included no foul play.
Police had said Ferguson was unresponsive when medics came and he never regained consciousness before he was pronounced dead. Media had been waiting for the autopsy report to learn more about Ferguson’s death.
More details were revealed Friday. Per a TMZ report, it appears the effects of an accident with drugs resulted in Fergusons’ untimely death. Per the report:
Baltimore Ravens pass rusher Jaylon Ferguson died last month due to “the combined effects of fentanyl and cocaine,” officials announced on Friday. In a statement to TMZ Sports, a spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, Maryland added the death was ruled an accident. No further details were made available. As we reported, Ferguson was found unresponsive at a Baltimore residence on June 21 and, according to cops, never regained consciousness. He was pronounced dead by medics on the scene.
“We profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson. He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and infectious personality. We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon’s family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon.”
Twitter reacts to Ferguson’s death
Teammates were upset at hearing news of Ferguson’s passing. Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen tweeted about missing Ferguson after his death.
“The last person I talked to leaving the facility. Spent almost everyday in the sauna together tryna see who gone last longer. Said it was our turn this year man. Ima miss you bro.”
When the news broke of Ferguson’s death, the NFL and fans responded on twitter giving heartbroken condolences.
