Last week, the Cleveland Browns looked to be in full trade mode after they got off to a 1-6 start, but a win last Sunday over the Baltimore Ravens gave the team a little confidence that they can maybe turn the season around and a lot of that had to do with quarterback Jameis Winston.

Winston looked great moving the ball down the field and throwing for over 300 yards, something Deshaun Watson never did as a member of the Cleveland Browns. Now, if the team can get a win over the Los Angeles Chargers, they will be sitting at 3-6 heading into their BYE and the NFL trade deadline.
Cleveland already moved star wide receiver Amari Cooper a few weeks ago; another veteran player was also supposed to be moved by next Tuesday’s deadline.
There have been many rumors that pass rusher Za’Darius Smith will be traded since he is 32 years old and having a nice season. One Cleveland Browns reporter thinks he will be moved this season no matter what happens in the Browns game on Sunday.
Cleveland Browns Will Probably Still Move Za’Darius Smith
I think the Browns will probably trade edge rusher Za’Darius Smith because Smith is 32 and the Browns probably can get a stronger return now than they could in four months. Right now, I’m predicting that and nothing else significant. I could be wrong, and a loss Sunday to the Chargers might push the Browns to be more aggressive sellers, but I don’t think they’re ready to make major decisions about 2025 and beyond right now. So it’s highly unlikely they would trade Myles Garrett or Nick Chubb, and unless a few crazy things happen around the league Sunday, I don’t think the Browns will be involved in top-of-the-page transactions on Tuesday.
Trading Smith would be a good move since he is older and won’t be in Brown’s plans. Cleveland needs as many draft picks as possible to get younger talent on their team.

Even if the Browns get some wins over the next few weeks, they are still so far away from making the playoffs, and they shouldn’t do anything that will affect the team’s future just because they get a few wins.
