Cleveland Browns Replace The Frustrating Deshaun Watson With This Elite SEC QB In A 2025 Mock Draft

The Cleveland Browns watched one of the worst teams in the NFL, the New York Giants, come into their home on Sunday and beat them 21-15.

Once again, Brown’s offense was bad, with the offensive line not blocking anyone, wide receivers not getting open, passes dropped, and quarterback Deshaun Watson looking horrible.

Sunday marked Watson’s 15th start since joining the Cleveland Browns, and like the previous 14, it didn’t go well.

Watson has not been himself since 2020, and now we have four years of sample size and he will never be the player he once was again.

Cleveland traded three first-round picks and a handful of others and guaranteed Watson $230 million to be the worst quarterback in the NFL.

The Browns are likely to pick high in next year’s NFL Draft, and one network has them taking a new quarterback.

Cleveland Browns Draft An SEC Star

A 2025 mock draft from Justin Melo at the Draft Network has the Browns taking Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and stated.

Deshaun Watson is an expensive problem for the Cleveland Browns and they need to figure out a way to make it go away. Worst case scenario, he becomes the most expensive backup QB in league history. Jalen Milroe is absolutely thriving under the tutelage of Kalen DeBoer this season, and his glow-up has him entering the first-round conversation.

Milroe is a great player and one of the most athletic quarterbacks in college football, but he needs to develop more as a passer if he wants to make it in the NFL.

New Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has the next three months to get Milroe to be the passer he needs to be to play on Sundays, and if anyone can do it is DeBoer.

It will be interesting to see if the Browns do decide to draft a quarterback this offseason or roll with Watson for another season.
