The Cleveland Browns are approaching the end of their season, and after last Thursday’s win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland saw themselves move from pick three to eight if the season ended today.
If the Browns stay around that eighth spot, they may not be in the range to pick a quarterback, meaning they should most likely go with the best available player.
Cleveland needs a lot of help in different positions, and a new mock draft will have them take one of the best players on the defensive side of the ball.
Cleveland Browns Take A Star From The Big Ten
Gordon McGuinness from Pro Football Focus posted a new mock draft on Monday and has the Browns taking Michigan’s star defensive tackle, Mason Graham, and has a lot of great things to say about the young player.
In an ideal world, the Browns would target a quarterback here, but with the top three already off the board, it makes more sense to focus on one of the premier defensive players available with the eighth pick.
Mason Graham has been dominant this season, racking up 33 total pressures on 311 pass-rushing snaps while earning an elite 91.2 PFF run-defense grade.
Cleveland needs to beef up its defensive line, and adding Graham could help give Myles Garrett a pass-rushing buddy from up the middle, which could put a lot of pressure on quarterbacks.
While many people from Ohio might not like the pick since Graham is from Michigan, fans will quickly learn to take off their scarlet and gray glasses when they realize how big of a star the defensive tackle is.
The Cleveland Browns will need a lot of help getting out of the basement of the AFC North, and selecting Graham will help them do so.
