Things could get awkward pretty quickly between Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns.
Earlier this month, Garrett officially and formally requested a trade, but at least to date, general manager Andrew Berry has been pretty steadfast in his assertion that Cleveland has no interest in trading the former Defensive Player of The Year and likely future Hall of Famer.

Garrett, 29, has already produced 102.5 career sacks and is in the midst of a four-year streak of posting at least 14 sacks per season.
Likely to be the most coveted player on the trade market this offseason, and viewed as the caliber of player who can elevate a defense into one capable of driving a championship run, it’s easy to see why the Browns would be reluctant to trade the 6-foot-4 and 271-pound game-wrecker.
Could the Cleveland Browns Replace Myles Garrett with Abdul Carter?

If Berry and the Browns reverse course, Cleveland may have the opportunity to select an heir apparent to Garrett with the No. 2 overall pick in this spring’s NFL Draft.
Pro Football Focus has the Browns selecting Penn State All-American edge rusher Abdul Carter in the first round this April.
“The Browns select their Myles Garrett replacement (more on that below) in Carter,” Dalton Wasserman writes for PFF. “Who was the Power Four’s highest-graded pass-rusher last season. Assuming they secure a nice haul for Garrett, the Browns can begin to reset their roster with an elite pass-rusher before drafting a franchise quarterback in the future.”
Carter has elite traits and can step in and make an immediate impact.
Last season, the 6-foot-3 and 251-pound edge rusher from Philadelphia posted a career-high 12 sacks while adding two forced fumbles, a nation-high 24 tackles for loss.
If Carter somehow falls past the Tennessee Titans with the No. 1 overall pick, it could prove incredibly difficult for Berry and the Browns to pass on Carter, whether they wind up trading Garrett, or not.
