The Cleveland Browns’ start to the season has been horrible. After their 20-16 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, they are now 1-3.
The Browns’ season is much over at this point, and players will be rumored to be involved in trade deals over the next few weeks. On Monday morning, one of the best players on the team was linked to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Cleveland Browns Could Trade Star Player
Ben Axelrod from Awful Announcing said, “Adam Schefter just highlighted Amari Cooper as a potential trade target for the Chiefs..”
Cooper has been disinterested this entire season. During Sunday’s loss, passes dropped off his hands and got picked off, and he just doesn’t look like he wants to be there.
This offseason, Cooper was rumored in a trade that would send him to San Francisco for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, and it seems like Cooper wanted to head to the Bay Area.
Cooper doesn’t have a contract for next season, and there is s great chance he won’t be back with the team next year and could be moved by the trade deadline.
The Kansas City Chiefs have fallen on hard times in their receiver room this season, with Rashee Rice getting injured in Sunday’s win vs. the Los Angeles Chargers, which will most likely sideline him for the season.
The Chiefs are already down Marquise “Hollywood” Brown for the season. This is the second receiver to be out for the year, and Kansas City didn’t have many wide receivers to choose from in the first place.
Cooper would be a good fit for Kansas City, and the Browns could get a high draft pick for him. They aren’t going to the playoffs this season and won’t bring him back next year, so they can at least get something for him.
It makes sense to move Cooper and start to rebuild the roster over the next year with guys who want to be in Cleveland.
