Cleveland Browns elite linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah suffered a neck injury in the third quarter of last week’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens. The medical staff carted him off the field and went directly to the University Hospitals Center for further examination and precautionary reasons. He would stay there overnight.
JOK was released from the hospital on Monday after spending the night there. Kevin Stefanski gave a brief update on Monday: He’s walking and doing better.
Since neck injuries are serious, he will not suit up for tomorrow’s matchup.
The Cleveland Browns ruled out their elite LB for Week 9

The Browns have already ruled out Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on Wednesday for their noon game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Owusu-Koramoah will miss his first game of the 2024 season after playing the first eight, but that’s not all. He will miss multiple weeks.

He will miss at least four games

According to Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN, the Cleveland Browns have placed Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on injured reserve. Since the Browns placed Owusu-Koramoah on injured reserve, he will miss at least the next four games, not four weeks since BYEs don’t count as a game. Because of this, he will not be eligible to return until Week 14.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah had a great start to the 2024 season after breaking out in 2023

JOK had an incredible first eight games to start the 2024 season, recording 61 tackles, ten TFLs, three sacks, one interception, three pass deflections, and one forced fumble in a career-high 92% of defensive snaps. He also boasted a 77.0 pass-rush grade, a 91.7 run-defense grade, and an 80.6 PFF grade. He ranked 10th in pass-rush grade, 2nd in run-defense grade, and 8th in overall grade among linebackers who’ve played at least 20% of defensive snaps according to PFF.
Not having JOK in the starting rotation will negatively impact the defense since he’s one of their best players, leaders, and the green dot wearer. They must rely on young and inexperienced linebackers to replace him.
