The Cleveland Browns took two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft: Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. However, neither will be the starting quarterback of the future.
Gabriel was a third-round pick, while Sanders was drafted in the fifth round, and neither might even see a regular-season snap this upcoming season.

The Browns have veteran quarterback Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco on the roster, and the two are competing for the starting job.
Cleveland should be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, and if they are picking at the top of next year’s draft quarterback, it will most likely be the selection.
Cleveland Browns Find New QB

Ian Cummings from Pro Football Network published a 2026 mock draft in which the Browns are projected to take Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik at No. 3 overall.
“The Cleveland Browns have four quarterbacks — Joe Flacco, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett — which essentially means they have none. Perhaps Sanders could emerge, but more likely than not, the Browns will be looking for a QB again, not far down the line,” Cummings wrote. “At 6’2″, 205 pounds, Cade Klubnik represents a style of passer that’s ascending in recent years. Klubnik bears similarity to Bo Nix with his athleticism, arm elasticity, “point guard” poise amid chaos, and creative freedom, and his processing and accuracy are on the way up.”
The Browns will most likely need a quarterback in the 2026 season, and while Arch Manning from Texas is expected to be the prize of many teams, there is a chance he won’t come out until the 2027 NFL Draft.
Cleveland would be lucky to land a player like Klubnik if they can’t land Manning.
