The 2024 season has not started as the Cleveland Browns wanted it to, and a lot of that has to do with the bad offense.
The offensive line has been one of the worst in the NFL, and quarterback Deshaun Watson has been the worst quarterback in the league over the first three games.
Not all of Watson’s terrible play is on him, and a good amount has to do with their offensive line being unable to block anyone.
The Browns gave Watson $230 million guaranteed two years ago, and he still has two years left on his contract after this season, so he most likely won’t be going anywhere after this year.
Cleveland will do anything they can to fix the players around their 29-year-old quarterback even though there are still 14 games left in the season, and a new mock draft came out on Tuesday that will give the Browns some help in 2025.
Cleveland Browns Find A New Offensive Piece
In the CBS mock draft from Blake Brockermeyer, the Browns picked 13th overall and selected LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell.
Brockermeyer stated, “Campbell has excellent feet and the ability to get to his spot quickly with a nice punch. He has some technique issues to clean up but has been an excellent blindside protector for three years in the toughest conference in football. I have no idea who’s playing quarterback for Cleveland in 2025, but at least the offensive line will continue to be a strength.”
The Browns taking Campell and putting him at left tackle would help improve the offensive line from day one. Cleveland took left tackle Jedrick Wills in 2020, and he has been average when he is on the field, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy for most of his career.
Wills will most likely not be back with the team next season, and Campbell could be the guy to take his place and hopefully be an elite offensive tackle.
