The Cleveland Browns have been struggling to find an identity this season. This week they have reason to be optimistic. The Browns are getting ready for the return of their running back, Nick Chubb. Chubb has been out since last season as he recovers from a horrific knee injury. Despite his eagerness to get back on the field he has not been allowed to practice. Chubb has been on the PUP-list this season and this week marks the expected return to practice for the four-time Pro Bowler.

Chubb, 28, tore his left knee ligaments during the “Monday Night Football” against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 18. Fans of the Cleveland Browns have been encouraged after Chubb who recently had two surgeries went through his recovery much faster than everyone expected. Later, when the practice window is opened, the Browns will have three weeks to decide whether Chubb is ready to be put back on the active roster or not. If not activated by this window, Chubb has to sit out for the entire season.
Cleveland Browns Nick Chubb Surpasses Recovery Expectations
Cleveland is still somewhat tentative with Chubb’s recovery and lets him go at his own pace. However, according to sources, he is already ahead of his recovery timeline. The Browns, without question, have missed Chubb’s presence in their backfield, and his return may be a big plus for the team’s offense.
Chubb may be one of the most anticipated comebacks because he is a key player in the Cleveland offense who has struggled to get things going this year.
This season, the Browns are focused on establishing an even higher-tempo ground attack; Chubb’s comeback is the perfect tonic to create this shift. While it’s uncertain when he’ll be back on game day, the practice window opening this week indicates good progress on Chubb and positive news for the Browns.
