The Cleveland Browns have been nothing but a mess through the first three weeks of the season, and on Sunday, the New York Giants came in and beat them 21-15.
Nobody is supposed to lose to the Giants; of course, the Browns found a way to do it. There were many reasons why Cleveland didn’t win the game, but a major play on fourth down in the fourth quarter has been making its way around the internet.
Cleveland was driving late in the game down six points and faced with a fourth down and one. Quarterback Deshaun Watson looked off his wide-open tight end Jordan Akins, who would’ve picked up the first down, decided to take off and run and didn’t make it past the sticks.
Watson stated this week that Akins was a decoy on the play and wasn’t supposed to get the ball, but one Cleveland Browns coach sort of shut down that statement on Thursday.
Cleveland Browns Coach Won’t Agree With Watson
Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey won’t agree with Watson’s stance that Akins was a decoy on the play, and in a tweet from Spencer German from 92.3 The Fan stated that Dorsey said”OC Ken Dorsey on if Jordan Akins was a decoy on the controversial 4th downplay: “I don’t wanna get into decisions on reads and how were supposed to do things, but it all comes down to execution. Deshaun has to trust his reads and trust his progressions.”

Dorsey’s response clearly suggests that Watson made up that Akins was a decoy in the play, and that is how the story has gone with Watson ever since he got to Cleveland two years ago.
When Watson plays badly, it’s everyone else’s fault, and there are a bunch of excuses why he can’t do something. When he plays well, he wants all the credit.
Watson has no idea what is going on right now, and the Browns are going down a bad road with him under center every week.
