The Cleveland Browns got hit with some horrible news on Tuesday morning when their new second-round defensive tackle, Mike Hall, was arrested for domestic violence. The rookie defensive lineman was released from jail on Tuesday and was seen practicing with the Browns on Wednesday, but there is a chance he will miss time this season.
The Cleveland Browns need to add another defensive lineman to their team because starter Dalvin Tomlinson has missed most of training camp with an injury, and the Browns could use another veteran body.
Tomlinson is expected to be ready for Week One, but a veteran could help fill that spot until he returns if he can’t go.
Cleveland Browns Should Sign Teair Tart
Teair Tart was released from the Miami Dolphins Tuesday morning, and the Cleveland Browns have shown interest in him before.
Tart started his career with the Tennessee Titans in 2020, and he made 36 starts for them over a four-year stretch. Tart was released in the middle of last season and signed with the Houston Texans, helping them make the divisional round of the playoffs.
The four-year defensive lineman could come to the Browns and help out from day one, and if Hall were to miss some time with a suspension, and he most likely will, Tart could take his spot on the active roster.
The defensive tackle position gets beat up a ton, so adding another veteran body who can play ten snaps a game could be great for the other defensive linemen on the team to get a quick breath.
