The Cleveland Browns have two new faces in their quarterback room, courtesy of the 2025 NFL draft. They took Dillon Gabriel of the Oregon Ducks in the third round and Shedeur Sanders of the Colorado Sanders in the fifth round.
There is still so much unknown about those two young QBs in terms of what they can do in the pros. That’s not to mention that Cleveland still has Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett. It’s a crowded QB room indeed for the Browns.
But ESPN also thinks that there’s a possibility in 2026 that the Browns will draft yet another quarterback — only much earlier than they did in 2025.
Will the Cleveland Browns draft a top-tier QB in 2026?

In a recent article by Jordan Reid of ESPN, the Browns are projected to trade up for the No. 1 spot in the 2025 NFL draft by using the better of their two first-round picks next year.
Cleveland scored another first-rounder in 2026 when they traded down from the No. 2 spot to the No. 5 position in this year’s draft via a transaction with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Browns drafted two quarterbacks last week: Dillon Gabriel in Round 3 and Shedeur Sanders in Round 5. But Cleveland didn’t address the position with any of its four picks in the top 70, and it might take a bigger swing next April. Klubnik made huge strides in his second season as a starter, finishing 2024 with 3,639 passing yards, 36 touchdown passes and only 6 interceptions. He could be the long-term answer.
Klubnik maintains a strong platform while going through his reads and is consistent no matter the defensive structure. He also has the mobility to escape pressure, but he has B-level arm strength, so it will be important for him to show that he can throw into tight windows this season. His game reminds me a lot of Bo Nix.
Klubnik is coming off a solid senior season with the Clemson Tigers in 2024, passing for 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns with only six interceptions while completing 63.4 percent of his throws for Dabo Swinney’s squad that reached the first round of the College Football Playoff.
