The Cleveland Browns will travel to play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday and are looking for their first win of the season.
This offseason, the NFL made a few rule changes, one of the biggest being the new kickoff rule, which has taken the league by storm.
The NFL also made another rule change this offseason, allowing players to wear Guardian caps over their helmets in games.
Guardian caps provide more head protection; many players have worn them in practice for several seasons. However, with the NFL allowing them to be worn in games, some players are taking advantage of the rule.
Last week, zero Cleveland Browns players wore the Guardian cap in their Week One game against Dallas, but it looks like at least one will wear it on Sunday.
Cleveland Browns Player Looks To Be Wearing Guardian Cap
The Cleveland Browns social media team posted a picture of the team’s gameday threads with the players’ helmets next to their jerseys. Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s helmet had a Guardian cap, hinting he would be the first Browns player to wear it in a game.

It appears that #Browns JOK will wear the Guardian cap today, becoming the first player for Cleveland to do so. https://t.co/zYFaICimgm

It will be interesting to see a Cleveland Browns player wear the Guardian cap in a regular-season game, and many other players could follow suit if it proves effective in preventing head injuries.
Head injuries have been a concern for many NFL players throughout the game’s history, so it would be nice if the Guardian cap helps get head injuries under control and players can just go out and play and not worry about getting a horrible injury that could ruin their career.
