CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans’ season just took a major turn. Sitting at 3-5,  Houston is in desperate need for a winning streak to keep their playoff hopes alive.  However, nothing comes easy in this league and the Texans are no strangers to that.  Quarterback C.J. Stroud has been officially ruled out for Week 10 after suffering a concussion in the Week 9 loss to the Denver Broncos, head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed.

Stroud took a hard hit while sliding late in the second quarter — his helmet hit the turf after contact with Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams‑Draine. He exited the game and did not return, and the team says he will now progress through the league’s concussion protocol.

    • Without Stroud, the Texans will rely on backup Davis Mills to start against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coach Ryans emphasized the team must keep executing even in Stroud’s absence. Houston Chronicle

    • Houston’s playoff push is now under pressure. With their rookie quarterback sidelined, the team’s momentum and offensive rhythm face a serious test.

    Looking Ahead

The focus now shifts to Stroud’s recovery timeline, which remains uncertain. The Texans will monitor his progress day-to-day, but head coach Ryans stressed that health and safety come first. Houston Chronicle+1

As for the team, they’ll need Dallas-fortitude and creativity if they are to overcome this setback and keep their postseason hopes alive.
