The Cincinnati Bengals are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs for the sixth time since the beginning of the 2021 season.
While this matchup doesn’t have the usual playoff implications or season-ending nature of those past games, the brewing rivalry between the two teams is apparent.
Cincinnati Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt started talking trash to the Kansas City Chiefs
Young Bengals star defender Cam Taylor-Britt started another media back-and-forth between the Bengals and the Chiefs by calling out rookie Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
Worthy, who is the record holder for the NFL Scouting Combine’s 40-yard dash, had two touchdowns in the Chiefs season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
Worthy’s quick bursting onto the scene resulted in Taylor-Britt being asked about the threat he poses to the Bengals defense which is coming off a disappointing week one performance against the New England Patriots.
Taylor-Britt responded by saying Worthy is small and can only run in a straight line in another article from Gridiron Heroics, once again providing bulletin board material to a Chiefs team that was already favored.
“Speed,” Cameron-Britt told reporters is what Worthy adds to the Chiefs’ offense. “That’s about it. He can run straight. Run jet sweeps and just run straight.
He can’t do too much else, that’s about it. If you can put hands on him, he’s only 100-something pounds. If you put hands on him, you’ll stop the speed. So, basically, get your hands on him.”

The Cincinnati Bengals made this mistake in the past
In 2023 the Bengals were 3-0 against the Chiefs with quarterback Joe Burrow at the helm. They eeked out two regular season wins and a conference championship victory over Kansas City before facing them for a fourth time in the 2022-2023 AFC Championship Game.
Before the game, Bengals defensive back Mike Hilton proclaimed Arrowhead Stadium to be “Burrowhead” due to the Bengals’ window of dominance over the Chiefs. The mayor of Cincinnati even got involved with the trash talk, calling the Chiefs’ stadium “Burrowhead.”
All the talk clearly inspired the Chiefs as “Burrowhead” was one of the first things mentioned by tight end Travis Kelce as he hoisted the Lamar Hunt Trophy over his head after beating the Bengals.
“Know your role and shut your mouth, you jabroni.”
Travis Kelce had some postgame words for the Mayor of Cincinnati after he called Arrowhead “Burrowhead.”

The team that has now won three Super Bowls in five years is once again being given extra motivation to beat the Bengals, showing that Cincinnati still hasn’t learned their lesson when it comes to lighting a fire for the opposing team. Fans of the Bengals can see the writing on the wall, but that writing seems to be done in invisible ink when trying to read it from within the organization.

Fantastic. Give them bulletin board material. If you have Worthy in fantasy, start him. He’s about to go off for 3 TDs.
