Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been a Pro Bowler in each of his first four seasons in the NFL, and is coming off his best season yet as a pro.
In the 2024 NFL campaign, the former LSU Tigers star wideout achieved a rare accomplishment, as he led the entire league in three major receiving statistics. In 17 games, Chase racked up 1,708 receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns on 127 receptions — all tops in the NFL.
But despite his “Triple Crown” feat, it did not translate into an appearance for the Bengals in the NFL playoffs, as Cincinnati finished just third in the AFC North division and eighth overall in the conference standings with a 9-8 record.
Cincinnati Bengals’ Chase eyeing to reach lofty goals after landing big extension

However, Chase secured a big bag in the offseason, as he and the Bengals ended a contract saga when he inked a four-year extension deal worth $161 million last March. Still just 25 years old and with a fatter bank account than ever before, Chase is looking to accomplish more in the NFL.
Via Bengals.com senior writer Geoff Hobson:
Chase insists there is still a long list of goals. He may still need two Post-it notes.
“A lot,” he says. “Championships. Playoffs. Not just accolades. Being a leader. There’s a lot more.”
Chase also understands the elevated weight of the burden on his shoulders as a highly paid asset.
“Get better at everything I can do,” he says, while also admitting last season’s dominance put his expectations in another tier.
“A little bit. Yes and no. There are expectations, the standard is high,” Chase says. “Just have fun and play my game, but also know I’m holding myself to a higher standard now. Higher than whatever it was.”
