Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been lighting up the league ever since his rookie season. Defenses have had to game plan around him as his connection with quarterback Joe Burrow has led to some amazing games. In a recent interview, Chase revealed who the best defensive back he has played against in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals Ja’Marr Chase Reveals Best DB

The answer might surprise you. Chase says that Tampa Bay Buccaneers corner Carlton Davis is the best DB that he has faced. With so many good corners in the league, especially in the AFC, it is surprising that Chase chose Carlton. However, it isn’t out of left field. The Bucs defense has been solid for the past half-decade. Davis’ play style may also be one that Chase has trouble with. Regardless, it is always interesting to hear who players think are the best players at the position.

Bengals Hitting Their Stride?

The beginning of the 2023 season couldn’t have gone worse. Burrow was injured and the offense looked terrible. After last week’s offensive performance, the rest of the AFC has to pay attention to the Bengals again. The offense looks back to its old self and the defense is as solid as ever. If they can go on a winning streak, they should be back in the playoff mix in no time. This feels very reminiscent of last season where the team started off slow and then came on strong at the end of the season.

Ja’Marr Chase is probably happy that the Cincinnati Bengals do not have to face the Bucs and Carlton Davis often. The Bengals have a huge matchup against the Bills on Sunday night which could give a clearer picture of who has the inside track in the AFC.
