Cincinnati Bengals running back Zack Moss initially suffered a neck injury in Week 1 against the New England Patriots and played through it until Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, his final game of the season. During that game, he lost feeling in his arm, and essentially played with seven fingers. Moss later shared with Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic that his C6 vertebrae in his neck were broken in three places, he had to wear a neck brace for the next two months, and doctors ordered him to have minimal movement.
“I started losing feeling in my arm,” Moss said, via Dehner. “Coming out of that game, I pretty much played that game with seven fingers.”
“I didn’t know, no one knew,” Moss added. “Friday before the Raiders game, it stunned everybody. I didn’t know it was broken.”
Cincinnati Bengals’ RB agreed to a pay cut in April

The Bengals and Zack Moss agreed to a pay cut in April in exchange for $375,000 in guaranteed money and $1.7 million in cap savings. He was originally slated to earn $3.475 million in cash, along with a $3.075 million base salary, $0 guaranteed, and a $4.816 million cap hit in 2025. The pay cut reduced Moss’s cash to $1.7 million, while his base salary dropped to $1.17 million, and his cap hit dipped to $3.118 million (h/t Over The Cap).
Cincinnati Bengals cut offensive weapon dealing with a neck injury

Zack Moss was medically cleared in the spring, but his conditioning has suffered due to doctors mandating limited movements for several months. As a result, the Bengals placed him on the non-football injury list to start training camp, limiting him to individual drills, hoping to ramp up his conditioning. Unfortunately, the front office has not been satisfied with Moss’s conditioning and, therefore, released him on Wednesday, as reported by Adam Schefter.
Bengals released veteran RB Zack Moss, who played in eight games with six starts for Cincinnati last season. Moss had 74 rushing attempts for 242 yards and two TDs last season.
