The Athletic’s Latest Mock Draft Has the Cincinnati Bengals Selecting Michigan Wolverines Defensive Back Will Johnson
The Athletic staff created a first-round mock draft for the 2025 NFL Draft. With the 17th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, they have the Cincinnati Bengals selecting Michigan Wolverines cornerback Will Johnson. It would be a major surprise if Johnson was still available at that pick.
Will Johnson most likely will be a Top 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Athletic said:
“This feels like a steal for the Bengals, who need help everywhere on defense. Johnson’s eyes and IQ allow him to bait quarterbacks into throwing into nonexistent passing lanes. He missed much of last season due to injury, but his upside could give the Bengals one less thing to worry about on that side of the ball. — Robinson”
Johnson is 6’2″ and weighs 202 lbs. Last season with the Michigan Wolverines, he recorded 14 tackles, two interceptions, two touchdowns, and three pass deflections. Will Johnson has all of the tools to be a shutdown cornerback and he is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Cincinnati Bengals need a shutdown cornerback and all sorts of help on the defensive side of the football. Drafting Johnson would be a step in the right direction, but the odds of him being available by the 17th pick would feel slim.
