The Kansas City Chiefs edged out the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday 30-27. The win, while it was closer than many expected, moved Kansas City to 10-1 on the year and still in control of their own destiny in the AFC.
However, it was one of the Chiefs’ players who made headlines after the game was over.
“He Is A Hero” Chiefs’ 2x Super Bowl Champion Saves Child From Falling From Stands (Watch)
Tumbling onto the field on Sunday nearly caused serious injuries or possibly even death for a young Kansas City Chiefs fan:
Following Kansas City’s narrow 30-27 win over the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium, Chiefs players were walking toward the tunnel to exit the field while fans shouted for autographs or anything they could get their hands on.
One young blonde kid in a Nick Bolton jersey could be seen reaching out for two players headed his way, but his eagerness almost got him hurt.
The young Kansas City Chiefs fan began to fall down to the ground below.
Luckily for him, Chiefs player Tershawn Wharton was in the right spot at the right time to save that kid.

After the kid fell, the usher near the guardrail told everyone to go back to their seats.
“Back to your seats, back to your seats, everybody go back to your seats, this kid just fell.”
Fortunately, as he was saying that, the kid was being pushed back up and appeared to be unharmed.
The 26-year-old Kansas City Chiefs lineman went undrafted out of Missouri S&T in 2020 before latching on with the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Fans were quick to thank Wharton:
