Last week, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce returned to the field, but the story of the game was elsewhere. It was rookie Xavier Worthy and second-year wide receiver Rashee Rice who stole the show.
Rice picked up where he left off last season. During his first game of the 2024-25 season, the 2023 second-round pick appeared shiftier, recording most of his yardage after the catch. During Rice’s season debut, he made seven receptions. In Week 1, he led Kansas City with 103 yards, surpassing Worthy by 56 yards.
Now he is ready for week two.
Chiefs’ Rashee Rice Makes Impactful Statement Ahead Of Week 2 Vs. Bengals
According to a sports anchor Aaron Ladd:
Chiefs Rashee Rice: “We just let our play do the talking. We’re locked in”
This was directly in response to being asked about Cincinnati’s wide receivers talking smack leading up to the game.
Fans loved Rice’s statement:
Oh guys this man is going to put up 1700 years this year. I think he is locked in and athleticism is showing also he worked hard in off season. I watched it amazing and it translates. RR#4 💪🧠🔥🔥

I love the way Chiefs have been handling the media to start the season. Focused on themselves only and generally give a great response to sometimes difficult questions.
