The Chicago Bears fell to a 4-8 record on Thanksgiving after losing to the Detroit Lions. Chicago looked as if they would send the game to overtime or even come away with a win on the final drive, but a massive mistake by head coach Matt Eberflus and quarterback Caleb Williams caused the team to run out of time.
Chicago Bears Meltdown
Williams had the Bears driving down the field late in the fourth quarter, and with time quickly coming off the clock, he was sacked with about 34 seconds left. With a timeout still available to regroup, Eberflus elected to have his offense hurry up and get set before time ran out, but Williams and the offense took far too long to do so, and the Bears ran out of time to do anything.
I mean this is the worst clock management mishap of all time from the Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears Fans React
Eberflus has been on the hot seat for a good chunk of the season after losing six straight games after starting the season 4-2. The team has had some of the most heartbreaking losses NFL fans have seen, including a hail marry by the Washington Commanders and a blocked game-winning field goal by the Green Bay Packers. While those losses seem like bad luck, this loss against the Lions falls on poor game management.
As a result, all of the Bears fans are calling for Eberflus to be fired before the team plays their next game this season.
Fire Eberflus after the game. Do it in front of the entire team. Ruin his Thanksgiving. Tell him to call his family to tell them. Make him do it on speaker phone. It’s what he deserves.

If you don’t fire Matt Eberflus after this you don’t deserve to be an NFL franchise.
Worst clock management I’ve ever seen.

Even after the game was over, the head coach seemed to not take any accountability, saying, “I like what we did there,” in his press conference.
In response to the final sequence of the game Eberflus says, “I like what we did there.”
Not only is this guy bad at his job but takes zero accountability for anything. #FireEberflus pic.twitter.com/qePqOdQbYj
