The Chicago Bears took a heartbreaking loss on Thanksgiving last week against the Detroit Lions, dropping their record to 4-8 after starting the season 4-2. On the bright side for the Bears, the late-game woes that led to the loss caused their head coach, Matt Eberflus, to be fired. However, one of the team’s star players received a massive punishment from the league for something that occurred on the sideline.
Chicago Bears Star Punished
Star cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was fined $19,697 by the NFL for what seems like something that happened on the sideline that caused Lions receiver Jameson Williams to throw the ball at him. Most people thought that Williams should have been the one to be punished, but after looking at different angles, Stevenson was seen tripping the receiver.

Confusion In Detroit
Before this video was posted, the original video showing what happened did not have a clear angle of Stevenson tripping Williams. Fans were confused as to why the corner on the sideline was punished for having a ball thrown at him, but this video cleared up the air.
The Bears will face the struggling San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, who have been one of the most injury-riddled teams this season. The Bears have lost their last six games in a row, but with a new coach at the helm, fans are hoping that they can at least pull off the win this week.
