The Chicago Bears have signed veteran quarterback Trace McSorley to their practice squad in light of the Justin Fields injury. McSorley has been on the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, and the New England Patriots in his career since 2019. The veteran quarterback will most likely serve as a temporary option for the Bears if Justin Fields ends up being out for an extended period. This news comes from NFL insider Dov Kleiman via Twitter.

Trace McSorley Career

In his career, McSorley has amounted to 502 passing yards and a touchdown. He has also thrown five interceptions which is the reason he has been bouncing around the league since he joined. The Bears have had Nathan Peterman as their backup on-and-off their roster this season, but this move could ultimately send Peterman packing his bags yet again.
Chicago Bears Struggles
The Chicago Bears have gotten off to a horrific 1-5 start to the 2023 season. They have had problems on both sides of the ball and have caused their fans to give up any hope for the season. Starting quarterback Justin Fields has been having a decent year, amounting to 1,201 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. He has not had much help from his teammates, though, which has caused Chicago to perform so poorly.

The McSorley move will most likely not change anything but will be a good filler while Fields tries to recover quickly from his injury. We will see if McSorley will be able to get the start and give the Bears another win on the season.
