After becoming the most distinguished gymnast in Olympic history, Simone Biles has set her sights on the future. And according to her, part of that life is having children with Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens.
Just recently, Owens witnessed his wife’s success at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The safety was granted permission by the Bears to miss practices and the first preseason game to travel to Paris and support Biles, who became America’s most decorated gymnast by winning three gold medals and one silver.
The Chicago star spoke proudly of his wife’s resilience and going on to dominate the competition. He was in awe of Biles’ ability to persevere through a calf injury during the team qualifiers, showcasing her remarkable pain tolerance and athleticism.
Owens relished the multicultural atmosphere of the gymnastics events, cheering on Biles alongside fans from around the world. He even collected a special gold heart-shaped pin with Biles’ autograph, which he considers his favorite souvenir from the experience.
The Bears’ decision to accommodate Owens’ desire to support his wife during her historic Olympic triumph reflects the team’s understanding of the importance of work-life balance and the positive impact it can have on a player’s performance.
Gymnast Simone Biles Confirms Plan to Have Kids With Chicago Bears’ Jonathan Owens
After the Olympics, there’s really nothing else for Biles to achieve in her career as a gymnast. Speaking to Hoda Kotb, the athlete revealed a plan to start a family with Owens, as seen in an article written by Tionah Lee for ET.
While her future on the mat is to be determined, Biles does know what is in store for her and husband Jonathan Owens.
“Yes, me and Jonathan always talk about kids,” she said when asked if motherhood is in the balance of the future. “He would have had them yesterday if we could have. Obviously we both have goals we want to achieve before we start a family, so yes that def in our future.”
The couple just celebrated their first wedding anniversary back in April of this year. Before that, they first met in 2020 via a dating app and remained together ever since.
With Biles accomplishing her goal, there’s going to be enough time to start a family with Owens. If their time together is an indication, a lot of eyes will be on them to see how they’ll do as parents.
