The Chicago Bears lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Despite a wonderous defensive performance, the offense never could get going. Justin Fields struggled again though did have some nice throws to his top receiver DJ Moore. With Chicago likely having a top pick in the draft, many are calling for the team to move on from Fields. Moore has been very vocal about his support for his quarterback and he doubled down on it after the game today.

Chicago Bears DJ Moore Supports Justin Fields
Moore thinks that Fields is better than Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. “What makes him not a good quarterback for the Chicago Bears right now?” Moore asked reporters in his postgame interview. The star receiver wants the organization to invest in other areas of the roster and not at quarterback. Fields has looked better the past couple of weeks. Today he made some great plays but his teammates aren’t helping. He had a beautiful deep ball to Robert Tonyan but the tight end dropped it. This is going to be a huge topic for debate in the coming months.
What Should The Bears Do?
Here’s what it all comes down to, money. This is the third year in the league for Fields meaning he is in line for an extension. The rookie quarterback contract is the most powerful weapon in all of sports. If the team decides to stick with Fields, they will likely have to pay him soon. This means he will take up a lot more cap space and limit the amount of talent the team can sign to the roster. A rookie quarterback would be on a cheap deal for at least three years. It is a near-impossible choice as both arguments have valid points.
If it was up to Moore, the Bears would keep Fields. This situation is one of the most interesting offseason storylines in the NFL.
