Starting guard Isaiah Wynn resides on the active/PUP list as he recovers from a season-ending quad injury suffered last year. Meanwhile, starter center Aaron Brewer is dealing with a hand injury sustained last week, which is not considered a significant issue.
The Miami Dolphins sign Chasen Hines
Per a statement by the Dolphins on Saturday, the team announced they placed Smith on injured reserve and signed Chasen Hines:
Hines spent the 2023 season on the Dolphins’ practice squad after originally signing with the team on Aug. 31, 2023. He was elevated once but did not appear in a game. Hines was a sixth-round pick (210th overall) by New England in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at LSU, where he appeared in 35 games with 17 starts. Hines was a member of LSU’s 2019 national championship team.
Smith was listed as the Dolphins No. 3 left guard on the roster. Hines would likely assume a backup role on the Dolphins during the preseason.
