Keenan Allen is no stranger to the spotlight. He is a 10-year NFL veteran who has played in many big games. This offseason, he found a new spotlight to be under. The wide receiver was revealed to be the gargoyle in the hit television show, The Masked Singer. Allen reflected on his experience on the show in a recent interview.

Keenan Allen Talks Being On The Masked Singer

“I was way more nervous than being on a football field,” Allen said. Even though his face was covered by the costume, he was still very nervous to go out and sing “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy. Allen was blown away by the experience. “It is kind of overwhelming. Taking off the mask was the best part.” The 31 year old receiver is no stranger to the music scene. He released a single, “Distraction,” under the moniker “K. Alexander.” His teammates were very excited to see their peer in another field.

    Teammates Loved It

Left tackle Rashawn Slater had heard him sing before but was still blown away. “I’ve heard him sing in the huddle before,” Slater said. “And it’s pretty good, but I didn’t realize he had it like that.” defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day loved it as well, “That was super dope.” While they all were familiar with his voice, to hear him give it his all on national television surprised a lot of his teammates.

Would Keenan Allen be on The Masked Singer again? Don’t count on it. He said that he had fun but “I don’t want to do it again.”
