On Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers lost their first game of the season. Week three of the NFL season saw Los Angeles playing at Acrisure Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers. An intense defensive battle ended with a 20-10 loss. Further complicating matters, Justin Herbert re-aggravated his ankle injury in the third quarter.
Now they’re going to be without another star due to a suspension.
Chargers Fans React After Starter Is Suspended By The NFL (Report)
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero:
Derwin James Jr. of the Los Angeles Chargers has been suspended without pay for one game for repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players, including during this Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Derwin James’ suspension is for a third-quarter hit on #Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth.
NFL VP of Football Ops Jon Runyan wrote in his letter to James: “Your continued disregard for NFL playing rules will not be tolerated.” James can appeal.
