Chargers Coach Jim Harbaugh Refuses Sherrone Moore Sex Scandal Discussion Before Dallas Showdown

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh recently finds himself caught between loyalty and professional duty after his former protégé at Michigan Wolverines faces serious criminal charges.

The wild affair scandal erupted just days before a critical playoff race game against Dallas. Harbaugh admits he still cannot process things around the scandal but refuses to let it distract his team.

The timing couldn’t be worse. The Chargers sit at 10-4, fighting to clinch their playoff berth. They face the Cowboys on Sunday in a game that strengthens their postseason positioning. Meanwhile,

Jim Harbaugh Keeps Focus on Playoff Push

Harbaugh made his stance clear during an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” this week and revealed he texted Moore after the arrest. His support surprised some, especially since he had already faced criticism for expressing sympathy toward his former protégé during a recent media appearance.

Harbaugh called the situation “a tragedy” and said, “I’m just praying for all concerned.” The coach told Patrick, “Keep it together and take care of your family. That’s the message. And getting spiritual guidance is really critical.”

The two coaches last spoke in early December before the scandal broke. Their relationship goes back to 2018 when Harbaugh hired Moore as tight ends coach at Michigan. Moore eventually became offensive coordinator and helped win the 2023 national championship.

Moore became head coach in January 2024 after Harbaugh left for the NFL. Harbaugh now has the Chargers rolling, winning six of their last seven games, with a defense that has held opponents under 20 points in three straight contests.

But the way Moore’s scandal news still dominates headlines across college football, the Chargers coach is visibly having a hard time digesting it. Recently, Moore was seen with his wife at their lawyer’s office, adding another layer in the active chaos.

So, he didn’t want to talk more about college distractions ahead of their match against the Houston Texans. His attention remains locked on his team despite the difficult situation involving his former colleague.

The coach told Patrick, “I’d be doing a disservice if I’m not putting all my focus on this game. This is the most important game for us.”

The Chargers coach knows Sunday’s game demands his full attention despite the tragedy involving his former colleague. His approach reflects a veteran coach managing competing loyalties while prioritizing current responsibilities.
