Chad Brinker was announced by new Titans GM Ran Carthon as the new assistant GM of the Titans. His statement, from Jim Wyatt of tennesseetitans.com, said, “Chad brings a unique skill set to our franchise, He has touched every facet of the personnel department – working in pro personnel, college scouting, cap management, and analytics. We are excited to add his knowledge and experience to our evolving personnel group.”
Chad Brinker: a name to watch
Chad Brinker has been an up-and-comer in top football management for a long time. Rumors abounded about him leaving the Green Bay Packers as early as 2021. Sports Illustrated reported in August of 2021 “New England put in a request to interview Brinker for a job helping lead its salary-cap operation, as part of new director of player personnel Dave Ziegler’s effort to rework facets of the team’s personnel department. The Packers blocked Brinker from interviewing and promoted him in the aftermath (which is common when teams block coaches or scouts). So clearly, the Patriots were looking outside the building for voices (Brinker worked with Patriots exec Eliot Wolf in Green Bay),”
Chad Brinker: reporting directly to GM Ran Carthon
Earlier reporting on the possibility of Brinker getting the position mentioned he would work in the “Cleveland Model” of front office. Reporter Albert Breer, who elaborated further with this tweet:
What I meant on Cleveland-like model (which is based on Philly's model)—having a football ops/strategy exec and a scouting exec leading departments and reporting directly to the GM. Brinker would be the former.
