Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones commented on the situation between the front office and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. It doesn’t appear like there will be a swift resolution anytime soon. Lamb didn’t seem impressed with Jones’ statement.
Lamb has been a holdout of Cowboys training camp this summer. He will lose $1.5 million if he misses the Cowboy’s first preseason game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
High-profile WRs want paid

Lamb isn’t the only high-profile receiver sitting out at camp. Brandon Aiyuk isn’t practicing with the San Francisco 49ers. However, the 49ers are willing to trade Aiyuk. The Cowboys aren’t shopping Lamb. They’re not hurrying to sign him, but Lamb wants to stay in Dallas.
The Dallas Cowboys players are ready for CeeDee Lamb’s return

Per a transcript by CBS Sports of Dak Prescott’s comments, the Cowboys quarterback said Lamb is ready to rejoin the team–with a new contract in hand:
My birthday just passed, and I got a great happy birthday message from him. That led to some talks as well,” Prescott said on Friday. “He shared with me that he wants to get back, ready to get back.
Hoping that this thing gets done for him, I know I am as well. Hopefully we can get him back sooner rather than later. I know he is grinding, I know he is itching and working. He is ready to be back with the boys.”
Lamb responds to Jerry Jones’ latest comments

According to Jon Machota with The Athletic, Jones told the media on Thursday that he wasn’t in a rush to agree to a deal with Lamb:
“I don’t have any urgency to get it done,” Jones said.
Lamb responded to Jones’ comments on X:
“lol,” Lamb wrote.

Lamb wasn’t pleased with Jones answer, and he shouldn’t be.
Jones’ comments come off as rude, insensitive, and tone-deaf. Frankly, saying he doesn’t have “urgency” to get his best playmaker on offense back on the field is disrespectful to Lamb. It’s also rude to the fans he told this offseason that it would be his priority to keep his core around this season.
Lamb isn’t around at training camp, and his absence isn’t improving the team.
