Ceedee Lamb’s reaction to Amari Cooper getting traded to the Browns was short and simple. “Wow, that’s crazy!” Of course, this is not in a sarcastic way. Lamb looked up to Cooper and coined him his “big brother.” Now, he has to fill his mentor’s shoes because he is the new No. 1 wide receiver for the Cowboys.
In his second season in the NFL, Lamb led Dallas receivers in receptions (79), yards (1,102), and added 6 touchdowns to his 2021-22 campaign. In addition, he earned his first Pro Bowl selection.

With the former first-round pick’s phenomenal season, the Cowboys felt comfortable moving Cooper and his $20 million salary. With Amari Cooper’s departure, this clears the way for Ceedee Lamb to be at the top of the depth chart.
CeeDee Lamb Acknowledges How He Got Here:
Lamb gives a lot of credit to Cooper for his early success on the field. They formed a great friendship over their two years as teammates, and Lamb learned a lot from the veteran.
“Just wanted to thank him for everything he had done for me in the first two years. Those are real important to me and my direction and trying to find a place in this league where there’s a lot of great receivers. A lot of guys can do a lot of things well in this position. Just giving him his roses for taking me under his wing.”

Jerry Jones gave their 23-year-old the heads up that he is the man for the job, and called Lamb “an upgrade” from Cooper. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott requested to have their new No. 1 receiver next to him in the locker room. This allows both players to communicate and build their chemistry to a stronger level.
In Conclusion:
Dallas looks forward to Lamb bringing his competitive and confident nature to the field. With more practice reps on the outside, the third-year receiver seeks to build and grow as a player in his new role.
The young star is carrying the tradition of Cowboy greats who wore 88 on their backs. Now in the spotlight for America’s team, Lamb is ready to face his new challenge.
