For the LSU Tigers running an offense and running a restaurant are one in the same. Being on Broadway is part of a weekend that is filled with festivities in New York City as Heisman hopefuls wait for the award announcement tonight. While being a tourist can leave you feeling overwhelmed in the Big Apple, the LSU Tigers have found a comfort zone within a restaurant in the middle of the busy hub far from home.
LSU Tigers Raising Canes
Having arrived in New York City the traveling LSU players along with Jayden Daniels were seen serving food at the cajun based food chain. Dressed in their similar purple and gold colors, the star players could be seen focused on serving costumers their food and beverages.
With the Heisman Trophy presentation being held at the Lincoln center not too far away, other notable nominees are also expected to be making an appearance at the same Raising Cranes venue. The twitter account for the restaurant posted that Michael Pennix Jr. and Bo Nix would could also be seen, at the ‘Caniac Corner’ later on this same morning.
LSU Tigers Hopeful Heisman Case
Coming in to the night, the favorite to win is expected to be Jayden Daniels. Having recently announced his winning of the SEC offensive player of he year, and AP Player Of The Year, the LSU quarterback will be looking to add to his memorabilia collection.
While his team did not have the same amount of success or wins as other candidates, Jayden Daniels has been the most explosive play maker and really has the stats making his best case. With 334.3 yards a game, and 41 touchdowns to only 4 interceptions there is no question that he has had an great offensive outpouring this year.
Really where he has separated himself is on passes of over 20+ yards. He is first in big yardage passing categories including, 63% completion, 22 touchdowns to 0 interceptions, and a 146.8 passer rating on deep balls.
LSU Tigers Verdict
As one of the most prolific players from this past season is endorsement of the food is very telling of his own stature as a player.
Canes sauce is elite.
In a classy move, Daniels also made sure to wish FSU quarterback Jordan Travis well and that he was extending his prayers.
As one of the elite talents coming out college, when asked about playing in the upcoming ReliaQuest Bowl in Orlando, Florida, Daniels stated that he would take time to talk things over with his family after his New York City weekend. As a possible top quarterback taken off of the draft board next year, his status for the Bowl matchup against Wisconsin remains up in the air at this point.
Though if past decisions are able to serve as any indicator, the star quarterback is likely to sit out of a non-playoff game to prepare and focus all of his attention on the upcoming draft.

With everything that he has said on the field, his most scrutinized audible to this point is him declaring in a Cranes restaurant, “We got a box combo, box combo.”
