Carolina Panthers second-round pick Jonathon Brooks spent the first half of the 2024 season on the PUP/NFI list to recover from his ACL tear in his right knee sustained last November as a member of the Texas Longhorns. The Panthers activated Brooks ahead of Week 10 but decided not to play him until Week 12. Since then, the rookie running back has played three games (Weeks 12-14).

The Carolina Panthers rookie exited early with a scary injury

Jonathon Brooks suffered a scary non-contact knee injury during the first quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. Brooks limped off the field and went directly into the medical tent, and the medical staff later carted him into the locker room for further examination and testing.
Head coach Dave Canales wasn’t feeling good about his right knee, saying, “It certainly is scary for him, scary for all of us.”
The worst happened

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jonathon Brooks suffered a torn right ACL for the second time in 13 months. The Panthers will soon place Brooks on season-ending injured reserve. He will miss the remainder of the 2024 season and will likely miss the start of the 2025 season.
