The 4-11 Carolina Panthers will travel to Tampa, Florida, to play against the 8-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday for Week 17 of the regular season. The Panthers can sabotage their divisional rival’s chances of making it to the playoffs this weekend. With a win over Tampa Bay and an Atlanta Falcons victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football, the Buccaneers would be eliminated from playoff contention.
The Carolina Panthers star cornerback popped up with a new injury
Panthers’ star cornerback Jaycee Horn played every single snap in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals, despite battling a groin injury since Week 15. This marked the 15th game he has played this season, the most games played in a single season in his four-year NFL career. He suffered a hip injury during the game and popped up on this week’s injury report.
The Panthers’ former 1st round pick’s status isn’t looking good for Week 17
Jaycee Horn (hip) did not practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. As a result, the Panthers released the week’s final injury report a little while ago and listed him as doubtful. Since Horn, their cornerback number one, is listed as doubtful, it’s highly unlikely that he will play and cover the Buccaneers’ star wide receiver, Mike Evans.
Panthers likely without Jaycee Horn vs Mike Evans
